Ceramics brand 1690 is the brainchild of Sophie Wilson: an academic turned ceramicist whose distinctive wares are things to have and hold onto. She began 1690 when her fifth child started school, deciding to set up her own Diagon Alley-style space where she imagined Molly Weasley might go for her essentials. She made candles, balms and jams but it was her ceramics that took off, unsurprisingly.
