WAX Atelier was founded in London in 2017 by Lola Lely and Yesenia Thibault-Picazo.
What started as a fascination with this remarkable material has grown into a practice centred on natural waxes, making by hand and small-batch production.
Today, from its Hackney atelier, they create candles, objects, workshops and collaborations shaped by nearly a decade of working with wax. Its collections range from hand-dipped candles and seasonal collections to bespoke commissions and one-off pieces.
Additionally, it has WAX Atelier Labs: its not-for-profit initiative exploring wax, craft, ecology and making within a designated local nature reserve at Abney Park in Hackney. The Lab hosts workshops, exhibitions and community projects that encourage people of all ages to learn through making
